英汉性质词组的功能视角对比研究

A Contrastive Study of English and Chinese Quality Group from a Functional Perspective

在回顾各学派对形容词、副词及其词组研究现状的基础上,从功能视角对英汉性质词组进行了潜势结构及句法功能对比,目的是揭示英汉语在描述事物或情形性质时语言形式及功能上的异同,以及异同产生的深层缘由。研究发现,英汉性质词组潜势结构成分大致相同,且相同成分的句法功能基本一致,但它们的体现形式、位置关系等不尽相同。这些异同的产生与中西方思维方式有着本质的联系。

After reviewing previous studies of adjectives, adverbs and adjectival groups, adverbial groups in different linguistic schools, this paper contrasts English and Chinese quality groups in two dimensions of potential structures and semantic functions from a functional perspective to reveal the similarities and differences in terms of form and function of English and Chinese in describing the quality of thing or situation, as well as the motivations. The results show that English and Chinese quality groups have similar potential elements, and the similar elements have similar functions, but their realizations and positions in the group may be different, which is essentially related to the Chinese and Western ways of thinking.
