The Delimitation and Transboundary of the Body:The National/Gender Narrative Function of Female Spy in Modern War Novels

在上世纪30、40年代的战争叙事中,出现了较多的"女间谍"形象。由于作家的性别、政治身份以及地域政治的多重因素影响,相对于传统的美人计故事,这一时期的女间谍书写呈现出比较复杂的态势,不仅写出了战时民族主义的加强对女性的影响,同时又展现了女性置身在爱国主义、个人情感和传统道德冲突中的困境。其中最有代表性的是徐訏的《风萧萧》,茅盾的《腐蚀》,张爱玲的《色·戒》。这些作品对女间谍形象的塑造,有力地凸显出此形象的国族/性别叙事功能,折射出女性现代性自我认同的艰难与曲折。

In the war narration of the 1930s and 40s,there appeared more images of“female spy”.Due to the multiple factors of gender,political status,and regional politics of the writer,relative to the traditional story of beauty,the writing of female spies in this period presents a more complicated situation,not only did it write about the impact of the strengthening of wartime nationalism on women,at the same time,it shows that women are in the dilemma of patriotism,personal emotion and traditional moral conflict.Themostrepresentative of them are Xu’s“Wind Xiao”,Mao Dun’s“corrosion”and Zhang Ailing’s“Color?caution”.The portrayal of the female spy image in these works powerfully highlights the national/gender narrative function of this image and reflects the difficulties and twists of the female modernity self-identity.
