Lu Zhongxiang——the Founder of Modern Public Library in Jiaxing

陆仲襄在1915至1937年间,前后执掌嘉兴图书馆达21年之久。在此期间,他引进现代公共图书馆理念,争取图书馆独立建制与馆舍,多渠道进行馆藏资源建设,推动嘉兴现代公共图书馆事业的发展,奠定了嘉兴图书馆事业的基石,是嘉兴现代公共图书馆事业的开创者。

From 1915 to 1937,Lu Zhongxiang was in charge of jiaxing library for 21 years.During this period,he introduced the concept of modern public libraries,strived for the independent construction of libraries and libraries,multi-channel collection resources construction,promoted the development of modern public libraries in Jiaxing,laid the cornerstone of the cause of Jiaxing library,and was the pioneer of modern public libraries in Jiaxing.
