The Teacher: Teaching Knowledge and Morality——Reading Mr. Pan Maoyuan’s Lectures on Higher Education

潘懋元先生所著的《高等教育学讲座(第三版)》问世已有二十五个年头,书中所蕴涵的思想,特别是高等教育教学论和德育思想在我国高等教育迈向普及化时代的今天仍具有较强的指导性。"教以事",教学乃高校之首要任务;"喻诸德",育德为高校的核心任务;为师者,则是高等教育的灵魂与主导者。高校应以"立德树人"为己任,把握好教学与育德这两个高等教育的重要环节。

Lectures on Higher Education (Third Edition) written by Pan Maoyuan has been published for twenty-five years. However, the ideas contained in this book, especially the theory of higher education teaching and moral education, are still has strong guidance in today’s China’s higher education which is moving toward the era of popularization.“Teaching knowlegde”, teaching is the primary task of colleges and universities;“Teaching allegories” is the core task of higher education institutions;for the teacher, he is the soul and supervisor of higher education. Colleges and universities should take “enhancing morality and fostering talents” as their own responsibility and grasp the two key links of higher education.
