The rapid development of digitalization and artificial intelligence technology has brought challenges and opportunities to coexist in the new situation. What is the future of the humanities in this context? More than 20 scholars from different universities and colleges in Sichuan Province discussed and talked about this issue, and extended a series of questions with different opinions. As for whether artificial intelligence writing has the literary attribute, there is a consensus that it should return to the literary subjectivity itself to think about the creation of artificial intelligence. As for whether the development of artificial intelligence will pose a threat to human society, participants analyzed the current situation of artificial intelligence and its influence from the perspective of their own disciplinary knowledge, and formed three different views:pessimism with more anxiety, optimism with moderation and instrumentalism with practicality. The powerful functions of digitalization not only bring new discipline advantages and values, but also derive new challenges such as imperfect development and application, impact on human cognition and emotional experience. The best way to turn digitalization challenges into opportunities is to focus on discipline construction and attach importance to emotional and moral judgment. In the digital age,the humanities, which focus on human development, will play an indispensable role.
