儋州调声是用儋州方言演唱的汉族民歌,它是在儋州山歌的基础上逐步发展变化而形成的一种具有浓烈地方色彩的民歌形式,是当地历史、经济和文化发展到一定阶段的必然产物。儋州调声突破了山歌固有的格律、体裁和结构而发展成为一种新的民间音乐,其音乐形式生动地表现出当地男女青年对歌时表达心中的爱慕之情。

Danzhou antiphonal singing, sung in the Danzhou dialect, is a kind of folk music of the Han nationality, which has been gradually developed and changed into a folk rhyme with obvious local colours based on Danzhou folk songs. An inevitable product of the development of local history, economy and culture to a certain stage,Danzhou antiphonal singing has broken through the inherent rhythm, genre and structure of folk songs and has developed into a new folk music, for its musical form vividly reflects the love conveyed by local young men and women when singing.
