李钰小说中的人物形象及其思想的近代指向

The Character Images in Lee Ok's Novels and the Modern Orientation of His Thoughts

李钰是18世纪末至19世纪朝鲜朝后期的重要文人,其小说创作取得了很高的成就。李钰小说中的人物形象主要分为女性形象、下层知识分子形象和下层市民阶层及手工业者形象。在这些小说中,李钰注重的不是完整的、复杂的人物性格,而是注重表现或发掘一类人的某一种性格与品质,并对其进行批判或赞扬,并通过这些人物形象展现出18世纪末至19世纪朝鲜朝社会下层人民以及没落两班的整体生活和思想状态。李钰对于人物形象的刻画与表现方式既有继承传统传记文学的一面,也有其对于小说叙事方法的创新。可以说,无论是在人物品质的展现上,还是在人物形象的刻画方法上,李钰的小说都有比较鲜明的近代性。

As one the major scholars in the late Joseon Dynasty,Lee Ok(1760-1813)achieved a lot in literary creation.The characters in his novels involve females,lower-class intellectuals,ordinary citizens and handicraftsmen.Rather than describing extensively the characters'complete and complex nature,Lee focused on the exploration of people’s personalities and qualities of the the same kind.The criticism or praise the writer made indicate the whole living conditions and thought trends of the underprivileged and the impoverished Yangban officials.Lee's description of these images not only inherited the skills from traditional biographical literature* but innovated the narrative devices in his writing.In general,both the demonstration of characters’qualities and the descriptive approaches applied have clearly shown the modern orientation of Lee Ok’s novels.
