广东省参议会选举纠纷是抗战后国民党政权腐化的缩影。选举纠纷的产生与处理,牵涉章程条文的缺陷和相关人为因素的影响。究其原因,省参议会打破了广东原有的政治格局。选举纠纷凸显了省参议会对省府政局的影响,进而引起国民党内部派系对省参议会席位的争夺。最终,关系民心向背的选举,成为各谋其利、剥夺民众参与权的"党内"闹剧,这样的选举不仅不能扩大国民党的统治基础,反而加速其自身的弱化与虚耗,为国民党大陆失败埋下重要隐患。

The reason for this is that Guangdong provincial assembly broke its original political structure. The election disputes highlighted the influence of the provincial assembly on the political situation of Guangdong province, and in turn resulted in the Kuomintang factions contending for assembly seats. The election, which was closely related to the trend of popular sentiment, eventually became an “intra-party” farce in which each factions were busy seeking for their own interests while people were deprived of their right to participate.
