Between Myth and History:The Thai-Lao Origin Myths from “Mueang Tian”

在老挝、泰国、越南等东南亚国家的泰-佬民族之中,广泛传承着"来自勐恬"的族源神话。它们在具体内容上又各有特色。有的与坤布隆有关,有的和西双诸泰有关。对于"勐恬"的记忆既有着历史的依据与空间上的物质基础,又是族群对于文化记忆空间的建构、文化认同的结晶。"来自勐恬"的叙述是泰-佬民族的"神话历史",依然在生活中发挥着诸多功能。

Among the Thai-Lao groups in Southeast Asian countries from Laos,Thailand,and Vietnam,the ethnic origin myths“from Mueang Tian”are widely inherited.They have their own specific features.Some are related to Khun Purom,and some are related to different Thai groups from Xishuang.The memory of“Mueang Tian”has both historical basis and spatial material basis,and it is also the crystallization of cultural memory space composition and cultural identity of the ethnic groups.The narrative“from Mueang Tian”is the“mythistory”of the ThaiLao groups,and still plays many functions in life.
