On the Natural Calamities in the Shaanxi-Gansu-Ningxia Border Region During the Period of Anti-Japanese War

抗日战争时期,陕甘宁边区在自然因素、人为因素和社会因素的共同影响下,出现了严重的水灾、旱灾和雹灾等自然灾害。它们呈现出普遍、多样、频发和群发的特点,不仅使边区的受灾人口大量增加,而且也使边区社会动荡不安,更严重的是导致边区出现了严重的经济危机。

Under the common influence of natural, human and social factors during the period of Anti-Japanese War, a series of serious natural calamities like flood, drought and hail occurred in the Shaanxi-Gansu-Ningxia border region, which presented general, diversified, frequent and collective characteristics. They not only made numerous victims, but also caused the turbulent social environment in the Shaanxi-Gansu-Ningxia border region. What was more serious was that they brought about severe economic crisis to the region.
