《中庸》影响《易传》论

On the Influence of Zhongyong on Yizhuan

对于《中庸》与《易传》二者之间的关系,或者认为《中庸》影响《易传》,或者认为《易传》影响《中庸》。其实从思想体系和文字内容来看,《易传》应该受到《中庸》的影响。从天道论上来看,《中庸》以"诚"言天道,《易传》则以"阴阳"言天道。这种以"阴阳"解释"天道"的思想明显地受到战国时期阴阳家的影响。从工夫论上来看,《易传》的工夫论只有在《中庸》天道论的基础上才能得到恰当的理解。在文字表述方面,《中庸》"性命"、"道德"等词皆未连用,而《易传》则明确提到"性命"、"道德"等词,按照词语由单音词到复合词的演变规律,《易传》应该成书于《中庸》之后。

For the relationship between Zhongyong and Yizhuan,some scholars thought that Zhongyong influences Yizhuan,and some scholars thought that Yizhuan influences Zhongyong.In fact,Yizhuan is influenced by Zhongyong from the perspectives of philosophical system and textual content.In the theory of natural law,the author of Zhongyong explained natural law through sincerity.However,the author of Yizhuan interpreted it through Yin-Yang,which was obviously influenced by the Yin-Yang school during the Warring States period.In the theory of Gongfu(moral cultivation and practice),Gongfu in Yizhuan can only be properly understood on the basis of the theory of natural law in Zhongyong.In terms of writing,the words of“Xing”(nature)and“Ming”(destiny),as well as“Dao”(Way)and“De”(virtue)have not been used together in Zhongyong,which have been explicitly used together in Yizhuan.According to the evolutional rule of words from monosyllabic words to compound words,Yizhuan should be written after Zhongyong.
