From Concealment to Exposure:The Beauty of Form and Skill moving into the Limelight of Art

文学艺术形式的自觉是一个漫长的过程,理论上更是如此。中外美学历来认为,文学艺术的方法技巧等形式要素完全是为内容意蕴服务的,它自身没有独立意义和价值,所以它只能隐藏在作品之后,而不能展示在前台。但进入20世纪以后,在技术决定论的深刻影响下,在俄国形式主义的呐喊和鼓吹中,文艺美学篷转,文学艺术形式技巧的独立价值和意义,不仅被重新认识且不断高估,并终于在后现代艺术中走向前台。

The literary art form is a long process self awakening, especially in theory. Aesthetics thinks that the literary and artistic methods and techniques, such as the form of the elements, entirely serve for the content, i.e. they have no independent significances and values. They can only hide behind the work, and cannot be displayed in the foreground. But in the 20th century, under the profound influence of the technology determinism, and in the Russian formalism’s advocating, the artistic esthetics turns. The form and skill are constantly overrated in their independent values and the significances, resulting in their foregrounding in the post-modern art.
