Quanzhou Prefecture Chronicles in the Ming Dynasty in Wanli Period is the earliest existing Quanzhou local chronicles. This article compares the records of pirates in Jiajing and Longqing periods in Quanzhou Prefecture, and the local chronicies of Quanzhou Prefecture and the counties under its jurisdiction in the Qing Dynasty. It shows that the book has complete records of rampant piracy in Jiajing and Longqing periods. It provides important materials for textual research and differentiation of relevant historical facts.
