法国的阿拉伯裔人口数量众多,但法国政府自上世纪90年代以后开始减少对阿拉伯语教学的支持,公立学校阿语教师和学习阿语的学生人数持续下降。近期,教育部长等各界人士连续发声,呼吁重启阿拉伯语教学。对阿语的支持与反对声音并存,反映了当前法国社会的多种矛盾。
Arabs in France represent a large population. Since the 1990s, the French government has cut its support to Arabic teaching and learning, resulting in a continuing decrease in the number of Arabic teachers and learners in public schools. Recent appeals by the minister of education and personalities of various walks of life call for a relaunching of Arabic teaching and learning. The divided opinion on supporting or opposing teaching and learning of Arabic reveal various conflicts currently besetting France.
