The Theory of Visceral Qi Movement in Huang Di's Internal Classics

《黄帝内经》认为,五脏功能的发挥以气机为核心。脏腑气机升降相因,出入有序,则能维持机体"阴平阳秘"的平衡状态。血的生成和运行与脏腑气机密切相关,脏腑气机协调有序,则血循其道,有条不紊。津液的输布代谢,乃是诸脏腑气机协调完成的,尤以肺、脾、肾三脏的气机调节为关键,故气的升降出入是人体脏腑经络功能活动的保障,若气机失调,可影响到全身脏腑经络的功能。治疗疾病时,需要通过调理经脉,令气血调畅,进而使脏腑气机调和,安定有序。四季养生之道在于顺应脏腑气机的春生、夏长、秋收、冬藏特性以防脏腑病变的发生。

According to Huang Di’s Internal Classics,the function of the five-zang organs takes qi movement as the core.The order of visceral qi movement,ascending,descending,exiting and entering can keep the balance of yin and yang.The generation and operation of blood are closely related to the visceral qi movement.If the visceral qi movement is in order,then the blood follows its own path and is in an orderly manner.The distribution and metabolism of body fluid is coordinated by all visceral qi movement,especially the regulation of the lung,spleen and kidney.Therefore,the ascending and descending and exiting and entering of qi are the guarantee of the functional activities of human viscera and meridians.If qi movement is out of balance,the function of viscera and meridians can be affected.During the treatment,it is necessary to regulate the meridians to smooth qi and blood,and then to harmonize the viscera and qi,and to keep them stable and orderly.The principle to keep healthy in four seasons is to conform to the characteristics of spring birth,summer growth,autumn harvest and winter storage of visceral qi movement to prevent the occurrence of visceral lesions.
