容观夐先生作为老一辈的中国人类学家,勤勤恳恳地为中国人类学学科的发展传道、授业、解惑。他不仅谆谆教导我们要重视人类学的理论学习和运用,还以身作则地把人类学引入南方古俗研究,用人类学的方法研究南方棉纺织史,以人类学理论指导畲族研究,为后学者树立了榜样。当下,中国进入了新时代,世界正在经历大变局,中国人类学也正值发展的重要时期,学习和运用人类学的理论和方法,去拓展中国人类学对中国民族、对中国社会,乃至在"一带一路"中对世界的研究,还任重道远。所以,研究和学习容先生的学术思想是有学术价值、有现实意义的。
