A Study of Lin Han’s Jinshi Family in Fuzhou in the Ming Dynasty

林瀚家族自五代时入闽,世居林浦村。十三世时分为礼、乐、射、御、书、数六支。林瀚进士家族属于书房。其进士功名能绵延四代,成为地方望族,主要归因于族中长辈的教诲、深厚的家学传承和门当户对的择偶观。林瀚进士家族的贡献有:他们在履行好职责的基础上,能够直言极谏、不畏强权;推动教育发展,参与编纂史书。

The Lin Han’s family came to Fujian in the Five Dynasties and lived in Linpu Village.In the thirteenth generation,the family was divided into Ritual,Music,Shooting,Imperial,Book,and Maths.The Lin Han’s Jinshi family belongs to the Study.The family’s fame can last for four generations and become a famous family in the local area.This is mainly due to the teachings of the elders,the profound inheritance of family studies and the concept of mate choice.The contribution of the Lin Han’s Jinshi family is to exhort the Emperor and not to fear power.They promoted educational development and compiled history books.
