摘要
《阿弗小传》中的嗅觉描写引起了学界的关注,但目前仍未见与伍尔夫的生物共同体意识相关联。实际上,该作品中大量的嗅觉描述鲜明地体现了生物共同体意识,而且后者在作品中的呈现又不仅仅局限于嗅觉描写。本文拟从嗅觉、理性、情感三个维度出发,以探讨这本传记中人与动物、人与自然的关系,并阐释其强烈的生物共同体意识。
The olfactory description in Flush: A Biography has attracted attention from the critic circle,but it has not been studied in terms of Virginia Woolf’s strong sense of biotic community. In fact,Woolf’s considerable descriptions of smell in this biography illustrate her awareness of biotic community,which is revealed in other aspects as well. From the perspectives of olfactory sensation,rationality and sensibility,this thesis explores the relationship between human and animal in Flush: A Biography and the awareness of biotic community as revealed in this extraordinary work.
