Chinese Premier Li Keqiang delivered the Report on the Work of the Government to the National People's Congress on the March 5, in which he announc-ed tliat China s GDP growth target for 2019 shall be at between 6 percent and 6.5 percent. High debt levels, the trade tensions with the United States and the financing issue with private enterprises have led to this lower forecast being set for 2019. If China wants to achieve its aim of doubling its 2010 GDP by 2020, a growth rate of 6.2 percent would be required in 2019.
