从翻译适应选择论视角浅析《废都》葛浩文英译本

English Translation of Ruined City of Goldblatt's Version:Based on Translation Adaptation and Selection Theories

贾平凹先生的小说《废都》语言特色鲜明,富有创造力且颇具时代特征,其英译本在国外受到读者的热捧。在《翻译适应选择论》一书中胡庚申先生提出了一项热门且具全新视角的宏观研究翻译的方法。笔者在整理归纳作品的历史背景及源语言的语言特色后,以"翻译适应选择论"作为整体的理论框架,结合葛浩文先生《废都》的英译本,通过历时性分析及比较分析等手段,从"语言维"、"交际维"以及"文化维"三方面浅析译者在翻译生态环境下所做出的适应性选择以及选择性适应,并基于此来探究社会环境、时代背景、语言环境等综合因素对译文的影响。

The language of Mr.Jia pingwa’s novel Ruined City is highly distinctive ,creative and characteristic of his time,whose English version enjoys great popularity.In his book An approach to translation as adaption and selection,Mr.Hu Gengshen proposes a macroscopic way to study translation from a new perspective,which is very popular.Greatly inspired,the writer of this paper summarizes the historical background of the work and linguistic features of the source language,takes“translation adaptation and selection theory”as the overall theoretical framework,and analyzes the adaptation and selection made by the translators in the translation ecological environment from three dimensions,ie.language,communication and culture,through diachronic and comparative analysis of Howard Goldblatt’s English version of Ruined City .By doing so,the writer aims to explore the influence of such factors as social and historical background,language environment etc.on the translation.
