On Acceptance of WEI Xi's Ancient Chinese Prose in the Qing Dynasty

魏禧是明末清初江右著名文学团体"易堂九子"的成员之一,他和魏际瑞、魏礼并称为"宁都三魏"。作为遗民文学家,魏禧的古文创作独具风貌,得到时人的广泛赞誉。清人普遍认为魏文文贵实用,长于史论,文风凌厉,奇气纵横,具有小中见大的特色。魏禧的古文创作对明末清初江右文风,乃至对整个文坛都产生了深远的影响,并促使了桐城古文日趋繁盛的肇端。

Wei Xi was a member of the famous literary group named “Yi Tang Jiu Zi”in late Ming Dynasty.Wei Xi,Wei Ji-rui and Wei Li were called “Ning du San Wei”. As a survivor,Wei Xi's ancient Chinese prose was unique,and it had been praised by contemporaries.Contemporaries generally believed that his prose which was inclined to be commentary and acute,had the obvious character of secular instruction and profound implication.His literary works profoundly influenced on the ancient prose of Tongcheng School,and it even impacted on the whole literary world at that time.
