基于学科角度的论文长度与被引频次关系研究 被引量:10

摘要 [目的/意义]基于学科角度分析期刊论文长度与被引频次的关系,为相关人员了解国际优质期刊论文长度与被引频次的特性及二者的相关关系提供数据参考,同时有利于办刊人借鉴,也为后续研究提供一定的数据资料。[方法/过程]基于2017年SCIE学科分类,结合学科规模、集合影响因子大小和学科间的相互独立性,选择ELECTROCHEMISTRY、OPTICS、CLINICAL NEUROLOGY和MATHEMATICS,APPLIED 4个学科为研究对象,获得各学科2012-2013年共计141 404篇Article的长度(页码数)和5年被引频次,分析二者的学科特性,并使用Pearson相关性分析对二者相关关系进行研究,同时分析各学科高被引论文和极高被引论文的长度状况。[结果/结论]Article的长度和5年被引频次均具有明显的学科特性,4个学科间两两相比,差异均有统计学意义(均为P<0.05)。论文长度与5年被引频次的关系在不同学科间是有差异的,但在大多数学科中表现较为一致,即在OPTICS、CLINICAL NEUROLOGY和MATHEMATICS,APPLIED 3个学科内,当Article长度≤25页时,其与5年被引频次呈显著正相关,相关系数平均为0.858;且在这3个学科中,随着Article长度的增加,出现高被引论文或极高被引论文的几率也增加,但该几率不会随着Article长度的增加而一直增加,当Article长度≥30页时出现高被引论文或极高被引论文的几率均较≥20页时显著降低。 [Purpose/Significance]Analyzing the relationship between the length of journal articles and the citation frequency based on the disciplines could provide relevant data for understanding the characteristics of international high-quality journal articles and the citation frequency and the relationship between them.The results of this study are conducive to the journalists.It also provides some data for subsequent research.[Method/Process]Based on the 2017 SCIE,combined with the discipline size,the aggregate impact factor size,and the independence of the disciplines,ELECTROCHEMISTRY,OPTICS,CLINICAL NEUROLOGY,and MATHEMATICS,APPLIED were selected as subjects.The length(page number) and 5-year citation frequency of 141 404 articles in various disciplines from 2012 to 2013 were obtained and analyzed,and Pearson correlation analysis was used to study the relationship between them.At the same time,the study analyzed the length of high-cited papers and extremely high-cited papers in various disciplines.[Result/Conclusion]The article length and the 5-year citation frequency have obvious disciplinary characteristics.The differences between any two of the four disciplines are statistically significant(all P<0.05).The relationship between the article length and the 5-year citation frequency is different in different disciplines,but it is more consistent in most disciplines.In the 3 disciplines of OPTICS,CLINICAL NEUROLOGY and MATHEMATICS,APPLIED,when article length is ≤25 pages,it is significantly positively correlated with the 5-year citation frequency,and the correlation coefficient is 0.858 on average;and in these 3 disciplines,as the article length increased,the probability of high-cited papers or extremely high-cited papers increased.However,the probability does not always increase with the increase of article length.When the article length is ≥30 pages,the probability of high-cited papers or extremely high-cited papers is significantly lower than that of ≥20 pages.
