A Preliminary Study on Amateur Performance of Shakespeare′s Dramas in Chinese Colleges and Universities

莎士比亚戏剧作为文学经典,是人类精神世界的高峰之一。我国对莎士比亚戏剧的研究多集中于文本分析或翻译研究。对莎士比亚戏剧表演研究多针对专业演出,对莎士比亚戏剧的业余演出则鲜有涉及。以中国高校莎士比亚戏剧业余演出为研究对象,梳理业余演出的历史脉络,指出业余演出的特点和不足,认识其对世界经典文学传播所发挥的重要作用。

To some extent, Shakespeare′s plays are among the most classical world literature and can be counted as the summit of human spirit. The research of Shakespeare′s plays in China is mostly restricted to textual analysis or translation studies, and the performance study mainly focuses on the professional ones. The amateur performance, being an indispensable part of Shakespeare′s studies, is largely ignored. This paper takes the amateur performance of Shakespeare′s plays in Chinese universities and colleges as the main research object. This paper, by tracing the historical developments of amateur performance in Chinese universities and colleges, and reflecting on these performances′ characteristics and shortcomings, tries to point out the important role the amateur performance of Shakespeare′s plays in Chinese universities and colleges played in the reception and dissemination of World Classic Literature.
