On Translation Standards and Strategies of Business Contracts

在国际化不断深入的大背景下,国际商务往来日益频繁,而商务合同在对外商事活动中起着关键作用。探讨商务合同翻译的标准及其相应的翻译策略,认为译者在翻译商务合同的过程中应在忠实原文的基础上,确保译文用词准确、行文流畅且符合目的语的表达习惯。为此,译者应不断提升源语和目的语语言功底,不断增加法律相关知识。

With the advent of economic globalization, international business trade and transactions become increasingly frequent, in which business contracts play a key role. This paper discusses briefly the translation standards and strategies of business contracts, and suggests that there are several strategies that translators could adopt when translating business contracts. In general, translators should be faithful to the original text, and ensure that the translation is accurate, fluent and consistent with the expression conventions of the target language. Besides, translators should always enhance their language abilities and increase their understanding of relative laws and regulations.
