The Role and Influence of English in the Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language: From the Perspective of Interlanguage

随着中国国力的不断增强和经济的快速发展,越来越多的外国人进入中国,想要了解中国及其文化,留学生数量日益增多,对外汉语教学呈现蓬勃发展的势头。对外汉语教学需要借鉴英语或其他中介语的有效经验。英语与汉语之间存在差异,造成对外汉语教学中语言、文化等方面的不完全对等或传达不准确等现象。只有解决英语与汉语之间的差异,才能更准确、更全面地把汉语和中国文化的精髓传递给外国学生。

Teaching Chinese as a foreign language has been flourishing in recent years. Due to the national strength enhancement of China, more and more foreign people are coming to China and learning about China and Chinese culture. With the increasing number of foreign students coming to China, it’s necessary for us to consider how to teach Chinese and Chinese culture more effectively. In our teaching, more often than not, we’ll use another interlanguage like English to help us. However, the differences between Chinese and English will cause some non-equivalence or inaccurate conveyance of the meaning or culture. In this case, we need to take some measures to deal with the differences with a view to teaching the essence of Chinese and Chinese culture to the foreign students.
