田汉的文学建树和剧坛地位,不仅来源于他的艺术天赋,更多源于他的性格和精神品格。这就是后人不断探讨和凝练的"田汉精神"。田汉精神对当代青年艺术学子仍然有着很强学习价值,如心系国家与民族,有抱负、有理想的精神;不屈服于困难,屡败屡战,勇往直前的精神;艺术创作注重真诚,求同存异,博采众长的精神;立足民族特色文化,富有艺术创造的精神;坚持艺术来源于人民,服务于人民的精神;等等。党的十九大报告提出了新时代的文化使命,青年艺术学子是文化传承发展的重要践行群体之一,青年艺术学子尤其是戏曲院校的学生应传承与弘扬田汉精神,不断提高自己的艺术追求,促进中华传统文化在继承创新中发展。
