The importance of color control in coatings production was introduced. The effects of different film-forming materials and blending resins on the colors were illustrated with examples. The effects of color paste, solvent, pigments volume concentration (PVC) and storage temperature of substrates and samples on the colors were discussed. In particular, the influence of rheological additives on the colors was described. Moreover, the effects of curing temperature, different platemaking methods and other factors on the colors of coatings were briefly described.
