Ideas Industry takes the American foreign policy as the starting point to study the development of American ideas market. In the form of interview dialogue,this paper expounds several important concepts about the ideas market,public intellectuals,thought leaders and ideas industry in the book,and briefly comments on the construction process of American think tanks in the light of the characteristics of the formation of American foreign policy. It stresses that the core of the construction of think tank lies in improving the scientific decisionmaking and promoting the level of social consensus of decision-making.
