It is of great importance to develop the Chinese clinical medical terminology system with Chinese chara cteristics and independent intellectu1al property rights for the standardization and interactive utilization of clinical medical record information in different systems, such as health management system and medical insurance payment system. The design principles for the classification framework of Chinese clinical medical terminology system and the development ideas for its top concepts were elaborated in order to lay a foundation for the comprehensive and in-depth development of Chinese clinical medical terminology system.
