In recent years, film and television begin to focus on the topic of identity. In movies such as How Long Will I Love U, Kaili Blues and City of Rock, problems such as "Where are we going" and the relationship between the past, the present and the future lead to an anxiety. The answer to identity, time and "Where are we going" by recent years’ film and television is to accept one’s past and present, cure oneself during a trip or in a faraway place, and return to the city. Yet on the one hand, the reconstructed time questions the therapeutic effect of time travel. On the other hand, film and television provide a utopia by encouraging escapes from the city, yet suspend the seek for real solutions.
