On Zen Tea and Poems of Ancient Poets in Yandang Mountain

历史上,雁荡山禅文化历史资源丰厚,不仅有盛名在外的禅茶——"雁茶",还有著名的三十六景、十八名寺和众多僧侣,更有众多文人墨客在此结缘,品茶参禅。禅在当时的佛教文化之中扮演了最为重要的角色。从宋以后,当地文人把诸多祈愿融入到了能够悟道因缘的雁荡禅茶之中。而雁荡山十八座寺院,均与文人和"雁茶"有关。

In ancient times, the Yandang Mountain area was rich in Zen culture. Besides the well-known Yancha Tea, also called Zen tea, there were 36 attractions, 18 famous temples and numerous monks. Thus many men of letters visited here, appreciating tea and participating in Zen activities together. Indeed, Zen played the most important role in the Buddhist culture at that time. After the Song Dynasty, local men of letters made wishes while taking part in the Yandang Zen tea activities in which they were enlightened. All of the 18 temples in Yandang Mountains were closely related to the men of letters and Yancha Tea.
