追求集群租金是产业集群转移的一个重要因素,不同区域租金的差异影响产业集群转移的区位选择。2012—2017年以纺织业和服装、鞋帽为代表的东部劳动密集型产业集群选择转移到中部的安徽、江西、湖北等地;技术密集型与创新密集型产业集群倾向于把研发环节留在东部,劳动密集环节选择转移到中部的安徽、江西和西部的重庆、四川等地,东部地区的高环境租金和高关系租金甚至可以吸引中西部地区创新型产业集群的逆向转移。
