Edong Confucian Doctor Liu Tian-he

刘天和,黄冈麻城人,明代嘉靖年间兵部尚书。十分重视医学,曾刊刻有《伤寒六书》《幼科类萃》等医籍。从政戍边期间忙里偷闲,搜集整理民间医方验方,著有《刘松石保寿堂经验方》,明清年间有多种刻本传世,李时珍《本草纲目》中多处引用其方剂。

Liu Tian-he, was born in Macheng county, Huanggang, the Ministry of Military Affairs during Jiajing Years of Ming Dynasty. He attaches great importance to medicine and has published medical records such as "Shang Han Liu Shu" and "You Ke Lei Cui". During the period of political affairs, he collected and collated the folk medical prescriptions, and wrote "Liu Song Shi Bao Shou Tang's Experience". During the Ming and Qing Dynasties, there were various editions handed down. Li Shizhen quoted many of his prescriptions in the Compendium of Materia Medica.
