The Narrativity of Temporal Signs:Towards a Semio-narratological Approach

无论是叙述符号学还是符号叙述学,都必须处理历史与结构的关系,其中“时间”是绕不开的问题。是否有“时间性符号”?时间如何被符号化?时间性符号何以具有叙事功能?本文从分析《阿Q正传》中阿Q从哪时“向死路上走”开始,进而探索一种摆脱“弃历史而要结构”的宿命的符号叙述学的可能性。

As the relation between history and structure is one of the most important problems in narrative semiotics or semio-narratology, academic focus has shifted to time. Do “temporal signs” exist? How is time represented by signs in narration? How do the narrative functions of temporal signs work? This paper attempts to answer these questions and explore semio-narratology, breaking with the ahistorical discourses of narrative semiotics, by analysing The True Story of AH Q and other modern tctions in detail.
