During the period of democratic reform,Xinhua News Agency Tibet Branch and Tibet Dialywere the major media outlets in the autonomous region.The two publicized the Party's ethnic and counter-insurgency policies,reported the process of counter-insurgency,publicizing and appealing for millions of serfs'liberation,and reported the democratic reform in grassroots areas,which created a good atmosphere of public opinion for the smooth implementation of democratic reform,and left valuable his-torical data for future generations to study and understand the background,process and achievements of the democratic reform in Tibet.
