俄罗斯目录学家、图书学家尼古拉·亚历山德罗维奇·鲁巴金的目录学思想与成果、图书馆建设理论与实践在世界图书馆学史上具有重要的地位和价值。他的巨著《书林概述》是一部庞大的书目百科全书,从读者心理学出发,提供了普遍适用的自学大纲,对图书馆学的发展产生了重要影响。通过对鲁巴金的原著及相关研究进行全面回顾,介绍了鲁巴金在图书馆学史上的重要地位与贡献,对当代图书馆管理与服务提供了启示。

Nikolai Aleksandrovich Rubakin was a Russian bibliographer and book scientist. His bibliographical thoughts, achievements, along with theories and practices on library con-struction have played an important role in history of library science around the world. His great work Among the Books was an immense bibliographical encyclopedia. The book inte-grated with reader's minds and offered a universally applicable self -study outline, which ex-erted an important influence on the development of library science. However, the research a- bout Rubakin's academic thoughts was still in blank in China. By means of a comprehensive review on original works of Rubakin and related studies and comments,this article presented Rubakin's major position and contributions in the history of library science, and provided a revelation for the administration and service of contemporary libraries.
