侯外庐的中国社会史研究体系的初步形成及其对中国马克思主义史学的特殊贡献

Preliminary Formation of the Scholar Hou Wai-lu's Research System of Chinese Social History and His Special Contribution to Chinese Marxist History

侯外庐对于马克思主义史学的两点意义:首先,侯外庐的史学实践完成了马克思主义史学观和历史观的转换,即确立服从政治需要、学以致用的史学观,和以阶级斗争为核心的历史观。侯外庐创造的历史体系尤其是思想通史体系,对思想史和学术史的影响都很深远。其次,侯外庐对于马克思主义史学理论的研习及其形成的诸多论断至今深有启发,仍不过时。特别是侯外庐的社会史与思想史并行研究的治史方法和"实事求是"、"独立自得"的治学精神成为后学者的典范。这些都奠定了侯外庐在中国马克思主义史学史上的特殊地位。

The scholar HOU Wai-lu’ great contributions to Marxist historical science can be summarized from the following two aspects. Firstly, Hou’s historical practice completed the transformation of marxist historical view and historical view, namely, the establishment of the historical view of obeying political needs and applying theory to practice, as well as the historical view of regarding class struggle as the core. The historical system created by Hou, especially the system of general history of thoughts, has a profound influence on the history of thoughts and academic history. Secondly, Hou’s study of marxist historical theory and its formation of many statements still have deep inspiration and is still not outdated. In particular, Hou’s parallel study of social history and intellectual history, together with his spirit of "seeking truth from facts" and "being independent and complacent",have became a model for later scholars. All these have established the special status of Hou in the history of Chinese marxism.
