Analysis of Dry Gas Seal Failure of Centrifugal Compressor in LNG Plant

珠海某LNG工厂冷剂压缩机采用串联式干气密封,在运行两年后的一次启机过程中,发现干气密封失效。本文根据干气密封工作原理,结合密封端面拆检情况,分析了失效原因,提出了相应改进措施,总结了操作维护要点,有效保障了干气密封安全平稳运行。

Tandem dry gas seal is applied in centrifugal compressor in a LNG plant in Zhuhai. However, the facility is failed during the start-up after two years running. The paper analyzed the possible causes for performance failure, introduced some technical measures and practices to improve the reliability, all of which have certain references for equipment of the same kind.
