The Peculiarity of Japanese Modern Ceramic Style

日本是名副其实的现代陶艺大国。本文从对日本现代陶艺多元风格的简论入手,进而从物性的隐喻,禅意的审美境界,极致的工匠精神三方面对其风格特质进行阐述,并从岛国的根基意识,对文化传统的尊重,对异质文明的吸纳三方面探寻它多样风格及多元态势的形成原因,以期对现代陶艺的理论发展有所裨益。

Japan is a veritable modern ceramic country. Beginning with an introduction to the diversity of Japanese modern ceramic art, this paper expatiates on the characteristics of Japanese style from the perspectives of the metaphor of the physical form, the aesthetics of Zen Buddhism and the ultimate craftsmanship. It also explores the reasons for the formation of its diversity from the island nation's consciousness of 'root', respect for its own cultural tradition and absorption of heterogeneous cultural influences. The study is expected to be beneficial to the theoretical development of modern ceramic art.
