Deng Zhongxia——The Earliest and The Most Prominent Proletarian Educator

邓中夏(1894—1933年)是中国最早的杰出的无产阶级教育家。20世纪20年代,他通过创办北京大学平民教育讲演团,创设长辛店劳动补习学校,受聘直隶省立高等师范教授,应邀重庆讲学和指导宜章县教育改革,主政上海大学,在国民革命根据地广州创立无产阶级教育体系,挺身保护遭受迫害的中国留苏学生,创建中国工人运动史学科等一系列教育实践,砥砺前行十年,为中国无产阶级教育事业的开创、开拓、推进、发展,建立了不朽的历史功绩。

Deng Zhong-xia (1894-1933) was the earliest and the most prominent proletarian educator. In 1920’s he set up the commoner education speech team of Beijing University, workers night school of Changxindian, accepted the professorship of Zhili High Normal School, gave lectures in Chongqing City and administrated the education reform in Yizhang county, presided over Shanghai University, established proletarian education system in National revolutionary base and protected the Chinese overseas students in Soviet Union and a variety of education practice of setting up the subject of China’s workers’ movement history, making a great contribution to opening up and developing proletarian education.
