Surgical indications for varicocele in youth and adolescence

青少年精索静脉曲张(varicocele,VC)是小儿泌尿外科常见的生殖系统疾病之一,是导致男性不育最常见的疾病。对于青少年VC是否需要早期手术治疗,目前仍存在争议。对于青少年VC患儿行精液分析,睾丸体积的测量,生育能力的评估及手术效果评价等仍存在诸多困难,本文通过文献综述,对青少年VC的手术指征做进一步讨论。

As one of the most common reproductive system diseases in pediatric urology,varicocele(VC)in adolescents is a frequent cause of male infertility.There is no consensus on the necessity of early surgical treatment and controversy exists among international guidelines/consensus.It remains difficult to evaluate the semen analysis,testicular volume,fertility and surgical outcomes.Through literature review,surgical indications of VC in adolescents were discussed.
