Apart from enriching the plots and enlivening the settings,the significance of economy narration of women dress in Austen’s works lies in its enhancement of more well-rounded characters and presentation of real world.Through analyzing the two contradicting economy narrations in her novels and letters,the current paper attempts to reveal Austen’s concept of women fashion and her preoccupation with social concerns.
