新茔碑作为一种在金元之际这一特殊背景下新兴的墓碑文作品,最早由元好问创制而成,以记录家族中新建族茔以及谱系为主要内容,但由于墓碑文体的发展以及受众限制的原因,只在元代被短暂使用。然而,新茔碑作品对于研究金末元初家族迁徙、宗族重建等问题提供了重要材料。

As a new kind of epitaph between the Jin and Yuan dynasties,new grave epitaph was created by Yuan Haowen.It was used to record the establishment of new graves and genealogy in a family.However,it was only used in the Yuan dynasty because of the development of literary forms and the limitation of audience.New grave epitaph supplies important materials for the researches of the move and reestablishment of family,and the spread of etiquette.
