The reason and form of one-sided decoration of escalator is analyzed. The requirement of national standard to escalator supporting structure is stated. Related risks of escalator existed under working condition of one-sided sustaining loading which is educed by calculation and analysis to a case about one-sided sustaining loading. The measures for the risks are discussed and summarized. Some advice on safety operation for escalator under the working condition of one-sided sustaining loading are provided.
