On Mao Ze-dong's Thought of "Promoting the National Economy"

国民经济是国强民富的基础。毛泽东一贯重视国民经济,提出了社会主义工业化方针和发展社会主义商品经济"、要把国民经济搞上去"的卓越思想,并保持一贯政治定力,建构起独立的比较完整的工业体系和国民经济体系,极大促进了国民经济发展,为党的十一届三中全会后确立和坚持"以经济建设为中心"的基本路线,推进中国特色社会主义,提供了理论准备、物质基础和实践参照。

The national economy is the foundation of national prosperity. Mao Ze-dong always attached importance to the national economy, put forward the principle of socialist industrialization and the outstanding thought of developing socialist commodity economy and "promoting the national economy", and maintained a consistent political force to construct an independent and relatively complete industrial system and national economic system. These efforts greatly promoted the development of the national economy, and offered theoretical, material, and practical reference both for establishing and adhering to the basic line of "centering on economic construction" after the Third Plenary Session of the 11 th Central Committee of the CPC and for promoting socialism with Chinese characteristics.
