Objective To investigate the prevalence of non-specific low back pain( NLBP) and its impact on quality of life( QOL) in Armed Police. Methods A total of 1385 soldiers from a unit of Armed Police were selected by random cluster sampling to investigate the incidence of nonspecific low back pain via self-made questionnaires. The quality of life was assessed by WHO QOLBREF. Results The overall prevalence rate of NLBP in this unit of Armed Police was 36. 4%. The quality of life of soldiers with low back pain( 3. 92 ± 0. 81) was significantly lower than that of non low back pain soldiers( 4. 25 ± 0. 72),and the difference was statistically significant( P < 0. 001). Conclusions Nonspecific low back pain affects QOL of soldiers in Armed Police. The commanders should be careful with the content and intensity of training in order to reduce the occurrence of NLBP and improve their quality of life.
