纳博科夫英语作品在中国的译介和思考

The Translation and Introduction of Nabokov's English Works in China

20世纪伟大的三语作家、翻译家纳博科夫,自1978年走进中国读者的视野,在国内产生了深远的影响。本文分析其英语作品在国内传播的背景过程和效果,认为纳博科夫不但启发了国内创作,还丰富了汉语词汇;但必须承认,中文翻译质量不尽如人意、选译作品相对单一、书评推介力度不够等因素在一定程度上也制约了传播效果。

Nabokov, the tri-lingual author and translator in the 20th century, came to Chinese readers’ attention in 1978, and has produced profound influence for his artistic achievements of literary works ever since. This paper analyzes the environment in which his English works were first translated into Chinese, and the effect they have made, and comes to the conclusion that Nabokov not only inspires Chinese authors in their own writings, but also help enrich the vocabulary. However, it has to be admitted that there are still some elements constraining him from getting well understood by Chinese readers, such as the deficiency in choices and poor quality of translation, and the lack of proper book reviews.
