During the past millennium, countless people, from various regions of the world, have been amazed by the peony's "celestial beauty0 and heavenly fragrance. Known as the "king of flowers," the peony symbolizes peace, wealth and prosperity. Luoyang (in Central China's Henan Province) is one of China's historical and cultural cities. It is commonly referred to as the "hometown of peonies." There is little wonder, then, that Luoyang's Peony Cultural Festival, held from mid-April to early May every year, is rated as the "No. 1 peony show in the world." The festival is on the list of China's national intangible cultural heritage. So why not attend the cultural event this spring.
