The authors introduced main changes in production scale and raw materials supply aspects recently happened in sawn timber, plywood, glulam and wood chip industries in Japan. In the 21st century, wood industry in Japan presented an up-grading trend with unexpected growth of domestic forest resources, which greatly promoted raw material supply transition from imported timber to domestic timber from plantation forests in Japan.
