Musician-Intellectual: New Identities of Russian Nationalist Musicians in 19th Century

19世纪俄国民族主义音乐家受到19世纪30—40年代爆发的"西方派"与"斯拉夫派"的思想论争的影响,具有强烈的民族感和反思性,他们是俄国第一批不仅具有音乐家-作曲家身份,也具有音乐家-知识分子身份的人。他们将注意力从音乐创作的质量上提高到俄国音乐发展道路的抉择的层面。他们重视现实主义的艺术观念和民族意识的传播,在建立俄国音乐体系的同时,也注重民族文化的世界话语争夺,为俄国音乐发展做出了贡献。

Under the influence of ideological conflicts between “the West” and “the Slav” around 1830s-40s, Russian nationalist musicians in 19th century had strong sense of nationality and reflection who not only became the first group of Russian musician-composer, but also musician-intellectual. They shifted the musical creation from the quality to the choice concerning how to develop Russian music. They emphasized the dissemination of realistic art and national awareness and they also contended for their national culture in world discourse by constructing Russian musical system and thus made great contributions to the development of Russian music.
